Paducah Power System has invested in the Prairie State Energy Campus, which is under construction in Washington County, Illinois, and will eventually receive most of its power from that power plant. In the meantime, PPS has contracts with a variety of sources for electricity over the next couple of years. Prairie State Energy Campus is the largest coal-fired power plant under construction in the United States.
